Patrick A. Howell is an award-winning banker, business leader, entrepreneur and writer. His first work was published with the UC Berkeley African American Literary Review and Quarterly Black Book Review. At Cal Berkeley, he co-founded Diatribe – a People of Color News Collective. Mr. Howell contributes to Huffington Post, Tishman Review’s Craft Talk series, Into the Void and Nasionia (Cultivating the Seeds of Nonfiction). He has been cited in such national platforms as equities.com, NBC BLK and The Grio. Howell’s integrated book of poetry-design, Yes, We Be, was published by Jacar Press in February of 2018, debuting at the Los Angeles Book Festival at USC. His two chapbooks of poetry, Resistance, Renaissance, Revolution and Evolution and Blue Ink Trees in the Bay, were sent to 1600 Pennsylvania as love notes (LocoFo Chap Poetry, 2017 and 2018). Quarter ’til Judgement Day, a debut coming of age experimental fiction work will be published in 2020 as will Dispatches from the Vanguard, a non-fiction anthology of the 5th Estate of Creatives (Repeater Books, 2020). He is an editor at large with Los Angeles Review of Books.
