After teaching in Baytown schools in Texas for 22 years, JoAn W. Martin retired but continued as a reading and writing consultant for Houston area schools. She also served as an adjunct instructor at the University of Houston Clear Lake and Lee College. She reviews books for The Baytown Sun, The Galveston Daily News, the Inner Looper in Houston, and Lamar University’s library newsletter. Her writing has appeared in over thirty magazines. JoAn grew up in South Alabama and uses her background in her novels. She is marketing her teen novels: Yankee Girl (historical fiction), Goodnight Mrs. Dinglewall (a ghost story) and Inventing Chloe. After writing three teen novels, she published her first adult romance, Retrieving Morning, in 2009. Her most recent novel is Pine Cones and Magnolia Blossoms (2013). JoAn is available for presentations in Houston area bookstores and schools.
