Susan Cushman is author of a novel, Cherry Bomb, and memoir, Tangles and Plaques: A Mother and Daughter Face Alzheimer’s, and editor of Southern Writers on Writing and A Second Blooming: Becoming the Women We Are Meant to Be. Her essays have appeared in four anthologies and numerous journals and magazines. She was co-director of the 2010 and 2013 Creative Nonfiction Conferences in Oxford, Mississippi, and director of the 2011 Memphis Creative Nonfiction Workshop. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, she lives in Memphis, where she is at work on a collection of linked short stories inspired by her visits to speak at Friends of the Library groups in ten small towns in Mississippi in 2017.
