GEORGIA WRITERS MUSEUM IS SEEKING SESSION PROPOSALS FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL WRITERS RETREAT

FEBRUARY 9-11, 2024

 

Proposals accepted from Monday, November 12 – Monday, January 1, 2024.

Acceptance emails week of January 15, 2023.

  • Conference will take place at Georgia Writers Museum located in Eatonton, GA.
  • In-person instructors are preferred, but Zoom presentations (or zoom panelists) will be considered.
  • All proposals will be considered, but preference will be given to experienced educators, published writers*, and others actively working in literary fields (editors, agents, publishers, etc.). *If you’ve been published, no more than ten (10) copies of your book(s) must be delivered to the GWM no later than February 1st, 2024 to be added to our retail bookstore for sale during the retreat weekend.
  • Small honorarium available for instructors.
  • Sessions should be a total of 75 minutes long, giving you 60 minutes for content and allowing for 15 minutes of Q & A.

Presentation formats include:

Individual or Panel: Focus on a theme or issues that will engage a variety of writers from new writers to self-published writers. The most successful panels include a range of perspectives and case studies with practical strategies that have broad applications to many different kinds of writers.

Roundtable: Short presentation by the individual and/or panel, followed by a moderated discussion with the audience about a particular topic.

Workshop: Guiding attendees through a series of hands-on activities in which they apply the skills and concepts being covered to their own work (or example pieces). These kinds of sessions often include the showcasing of abilities and the imparting of knowledge that can be used immediately by the audience in order to help them meet their personal writing goals.
