Country Roads magazine’s tenth annual Regional Writings issue will be published in June 2011, featuring the winners of their annual Short Story Contest and Readers’ Choice Award.
Writers of Louisiana and Mississippi are now invited to submit works of fiction or haiku for a chance at publication. Submission deadline is Tuesday, March 15.
A panel of judges will select the Short Story Contest‘s winners by April 1. There will be a $200 cash prize for each fiction story winner. Three winning works, plus a selection of haiku entries will be published in the June 2011 issue of Country Roads magazine and online at www.countryroadsmagazine.com. Winners will also be invited to participate in a panel discussion about short story writing at the 2011 Louisiana Book Festival in October 2011.
Runners-up will be notified on April 1, and their stories will be published online throughout the month of April for the Readers’ Choice competition. Online voting will close at midnight on April 30. The author of the story with the most votes will win a $200 cash prize, and that story will be published as the “Readers’ Choice” in the June 2011 issue.
