Kerstin Shands

Kerstin Shands has been teaching in the English Department at Södertörn University since 1998, where she has also organized several international conferences, most recently a conference on autobiography. Among her books are: The Repair of the World: The Novels of Marge Piercy (1994) and Embracing Space: Spatial Metaphors in Feminist Discourse (1999). As the editor of Södertörn University English Studies, Kerstin Shands has co-edited and published five anthologies: Collusion and Resistance: Women Writing in English (2002), Neither East Nor West: Postcolonial Essays on Literature, Culture and Religion (2008), Living Language, Living Memory: Essays on the Works of Toni Morrison (2014), and Writing the Self: Essays on Autobiography and Autofiction (2015). Her most recent book is Journeys Within: The Contemporary Spiritual Autobiography (2016).
