Linda Bloodworth Thomason
Born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Linda Bloodworth Thomason started her writing career as a magazine writer in Los Angeles. She began writing scripts for such television shows as M*A*S*H, and Rhoda. She became famous for creating and writing the hit-television series, Designing Women, a witty character-driven sit-com starring four independent minded southern women in Atlanta, Georgia. She also created Evening Shade.
Husband, Harry Thomason, and Linda, both close friends of President Clinton, were trusted with the task of creating a documentary for him, about him prior to the 1992 election. This documentary, A Man from Hope was met with critical praise as was their second documentary for President Clinton in 1996, A Place Called America.
While her script writing career has been met with much success, it was not until 2004 that she wrote her first novel: Liberating Paris.
