Clayton Sullivan

Clayton Sullivan was born and raised in Mississippi. He became a preacher when he was a young man, and studied theology at Temple University in Philadelphia and taught Philosophy and Comparative Religion at the University of Southern Mississippi.  Now, as Professor Emeritus, he is a full-time writer, and resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Sullivan is the author the controversial book  Rescuing Jesus from the Christians, and Jesus, and the Sweet Pilgrim Baptist Church: A Fable.

In 2005, Sullivan released his first novel, Why Beulah Shot her Pistol Inside the Baptist Church
